Stay at Riverside

A yurt is a portable, circular dwelling made of a lattice frame and poles and covered in insulator felt and weatherproof fabric. They are a sturdy, reliable type of tent. Yurts have been the primary style of home in Central Asia, particularly Mongolia, for thousands of years. Our yurts are sourced from a Canadian supplier who believes in sustainability and tradition. They are mostly handmade in Mongolia with deep rooted links to the history of yurt living. Yurts are warm, breathable and rich in tradition, connecting the earth to the sky providing shelter in both rustic and modern environments.

Check-in is at 3pm and check-out is at 11am. Early check-in (1pm) and / or late check-out (1pm) can be purchased at the time of booking subject to availability.

Feed is provided in each yurt so guests are welcome to interact with the animals at any time during their stay. We also invite guests to join us at the barn for the evening routine and farm turn in (tour).

Guests are welcome to spend time with our farm animals, with feed provided for photos and interactions, and to join our evening farm turn in as the animals are brought into the barn for the night. During your stay, you can enjoy the riverside nature trail, kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, fishing, and relaxing by the fire pit with BBQ and s’mores. Nearby towns, restaurants, and Niagara wine country are all a short drive away.

Absolutely! Dogs and cats are welcome for $20 per pet, with up to 2 pets allowed per yurt. The pet fee can be added when booking. Dogs must be leashed whenever they are outside and should not disturb other guests or animals on the farm. Dogs cannot attend the evening farm tour or interact with the farm animals. Pets are not permitted on beds or furniture, and please remember to pick up after your pet.

Please keep in mind that we have friendly barn cats who roam the property, so visiting pets should be comfortable around other animals and supervised while outside.

Each yurt is heated with a wood-burning stove and all the firewood you’ll need is provided. Once the weather gets colder, we can pre-start the stove before your arrival if requested so the space is cozy for you. During your stay, all you need to do is top up the stove as needed. We include simple instructions in your check-in info and on the yurt noticeboard.

For fire safety and code compliance, additional mattresses or sleeping pads are not permitted inside the yurt at any time.

We send a confirmation email upon booking which provides the majority of information. 3 days before arrival we send an ETA request and details for your arrival.

Our yurts are designed for all-season comfort and include wood-burning stoves for warmth. In cases of severe or inclement weather, we will communicate any necessary changes. If the farm must close before your stay, you will be offered a credit or refund; if closure occurs during your stay, a credit will be provided.

Reservations that are cancelled more than 14 days prior to the arrival date will be fully refunded less booking fees (5%). Reservations that are cancelled 48 hours to 14 days prior to arrival can be rescheduled free of charge for up to 12 months after the original booking, but will not be refunded.
